Rolls Royce V8 6.23ltr

Gearbox 4 speed Automatic

Oxford Blue with Grey Hide

1 of the 54 cars clothed with “Flying Spur” bodywork in lightweight aluminium. Chassis Number: SEV323, was delivered to H.J. Mulliner on 30/9/63, and handed over to H.R. Owen on 16/1/64 once the coachwork had been completed. Records show that the body which this car wears was the first Rolls Royce “Flying Spur” produced, but was the second car actually delivered to a customer. The build records with the vehicle also show that the first owner was a Mr George Farrow of Farnborough, Kent, for whom the factory fitted the car with his personal registration number of “GF 1” prior to delivery. The car wore the colour of Oxford Blue with a Grey hide interior from new, the specification it still wears to the present day. Other details gleaned from the build sheets, show that the vehicle was fitted with “Full Refrigeration” in the boot (air conditioning), as well as the dashboard from the Bentley Continental which included a Rev Counter, but re-marked with “RR”; clearly a preference expressed by the owner, and able to be met by Rolls Royce. Electric windows adorn all doors, and a Hirschmann electric aerial services the radio.

Mileage is indicated at 132,078, with extensive Service History on file, showing regular routine maintenance, a must for a vehicle of this type.

Paintwork is in very good condition indeed, as is all of the external brightwork, and requires no further attention. The interior wood is, frankly, exceptional, and belies the age of the vehicle. The interior is very good, with some attention to re-colouring evident on the seats. All interior carpets are in good condition, with none needing replacing. The headlining is also fantastic. Copies of the original build sheets are with the car, as are the original Inspection Report and Road Test Report.

The car drives absolutely superbly in any type of traffic conditions, and can be deployed for anything from local errands, to extensive touring throughout Europe and beyond, all in extreme comfort. It requires no mechanical or structural attention whatsoever, and can just be driven away and enjoyed. Regular routine maintenance will further extend the pleasure of ownership, and protect the care and attention that has already been lavished upon it.
